Meet the Hemet Team Behind Ellery ADU Studio Hemet
We’re the crew that shows up in Hemet, San Jacinto, and the unincorporated pockets of Riverside County where the permit path still runs through county planning. Every one of us works under the same contract, the same photo record, and the same written price that Nadia Ellery put on paper before we touched a tool. What unites us is simple: we’ve all been on the wrong side of a verbal promise, and we don’t do that here.
Our People
Nadia Ellery, Owner & Lead Designer
I’ve been drawing ADU permit sets since 2015, back when Hemet’s planning counter still required three paper copies and a carbon triplicate for fire review. I started this studio because I watched my parents get soaked on a garage conversion in Menifee - contractor quoted one number, invoice came in 40% higher, and nobody would pick up the phone. That doesn’t happen on my jobs. I carry a Class B license, I sign every written price myself under Haven Standard Clause 1, and I still do site walks personally because satellite imagery misses the oak tree that kills your setback. On weekends I restore mid-century aluminum trailers, which has absolutely nothing to do with ADUs except that both require you to love working in tight spaces.
Marcus T., Lead Technician & Foundation Specialist
Marcus came up through commercial concrete in Perris before he ever touched residential ADU work. He’s the guy we send when the existing garage slab is questionable - he’ll core-drill it, measure the rebar spacing with a cover meter, and tell you in ten minutes whether you’re pouring new or working with what you’ve got. He holds a ICC Residential Building Inspector certification, which matters in Hemet because the city inspector knows him by name and doesn’t second-guess his prep. Marcus keeps a collection of vintage concrete stamps in his truck, which he claims are for “historical reference” but mostly just make him happy. He’ll talk your ear off about 1920s Craftsman porch finishes if you let him.
Dana R., Senior Installer & Systems Coordinator
Dana runs our prefab and modular coordination - Abodu, Cover, Dvele, Mighty Buildings, Boxabl, Plant Prefab, Tuff Shed, James Hardie, she’s fluent in all of them. Before joining us she spent four years as a logistics coordinator for a manufactured housing plant in Corona, so she actually understands crane schedules, transport permits for oversize loads on State Street, and why the Hemet Valley Mall parking lot works as a staging area for certain modules but not others. She’s OSHA 30 certified and keeps our crews in compliance on multi-trade sites where the electrician and the plumber are both trying to work the same Tuesday. Dana has a side gig restoring vintage motorcycles, which she says taught her more about tolerances than any classroom.
Jesse K., Service Coordinator & Permit Runner
Jesse is the reason your permit doesn’t sit in a queue for three weeks. He knows the Riverside County planning portal’s error codes by heart, he knows which Hemet counter staff prefer digital submittals versus paper, and he knows that the fire department’s ADU review got moved to a different building in 2023 - a fact that still trips up out-of-town architects. He’s been with us since 2019, starting as an apprentice carpenter before he realized his real talent was translating between bureaucrats and builders. Jesse carries a Certified Access Specialist (CASp) associate credential, which comes in handy when we’re adapting an older Hemet home for universal design. He grew up in the San Jacinto Valley, played baseball at Hemet High, and can tell you which neighborhoods built in the 1950s have septic systems that complicate ADU additions.
Tomas V., Apprentice Carpenter & Site Documentation
Tomas is our newest crew member, coming up on two years with us. He’s the one holding the camera on every site visit - the documented photo record isn’t an afterthought, it’s his primary responsibility. He photographs the existing conditions before we start, the rough inspections, the utility tie-ins, and the final walkthrough. He’s working toward his California Contractor License and studies under Marcus on foundation days and Dana on framing days. Tomas grew up in a family that did kitchen remodels without permits in East Hemet, so he understands why our clients sometimes look skeptical when we say the inspection matters. He’s converting that skepticism into advocacy, one photo record at a time.
One Standard, Every Job

Every person on this page works under the same five clauses. Haven Standard Clause 1 means Nadia’s written price is the price - Marcus doesn’t add a line item for “unexpected conditions” without a change order signed by you and documented by Tomas. Clause 5 locks the scope at signing; Dana doesn’t substitute a cheaper window spec because it’s Tuesday and the supplier’s out of stock. The 365-Day Done Right Promise applies to our entire network, but the crew that answers for it in Hemet is the crew you met above. When you call (951) 430-0167, a live person answers - sometimes Jesse, sometimes Nadia, never a queue that promises a callback tomorrow. We’re independently owned and operated, which means the person who wrote your price is the person whose license number is on the contract, and the person who picks up when something needs fixing.
